ANSWERS FOR PATIENTS & FAMILIES

Let’s make the next step
a little clearer.

These are general answers. Your provider, health plan, and Regency’s team can explain what applies to your situation.

What does home health include?

Home health involves skilled services delivered at home under a care plan. Regency lists skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. The services you receive depend on your needs and care orders.

How do I get started?

Call Regency at (979) 743-4663. Your physician or other authorized provider can determine whether home health is appropriate and provide the necessary order. You can also talk with your hospital discharge planner about a referral.

Do you serve my area?

Regency lists Fayette, Colorado, Lavaca, Gonzales, DeWitt, Lee, and Austin counties as its service area. Call with your address to confirm coverage and current availability.

Will Medicare cover home health?

Medicare has specific requirements, including a need for intermittent skilled services, qualifying homebound status, and care ordered by a doctor or authorized provider. Coverage depends on meeting those requirements. The agency and your plan can explain your benefits and any costs before care starts.

What does “homebound” mean?

For Medicare, homebound generally means leaving home is difficult because of your condition and requires a considerable effort or help. You may still leave for medical care and certain short or infrequent outings. Your provider evaluates whether you meet the requirements.

Is this the same as having a caregiver with me all day?

No. Skilled home health generally involves scheduled visits based on the care plan. Medicare’s home health benefit does not pay for round-the-clock care at home or personal care alone. Regency’s nurse-on-call support for patients is different from continuous in-home staffing.

Which insurance plans do you accept?

Regency’s current site lists Medicare, Humana, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Plan networks, authorization rules, and benefits can vary. Call the office with your specific plan information to confirm participation and eligibility before arranging care.

What should I have ready when I call?

For an initial conversation, it can help to have your location, provider’s name, insurance information, and general questions ready. Ask the office how to send any referral or medical records through the appropriate channel.

When is the office open?

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Regency’s current site also states that a registered nurse is on call for patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ask your care team how to reach the on-call nurse.

Can a family member call on someone’s behalf?

A family member or caregiver can call to ask general questions about services and getting started. The agency will explain what permission is needed before discussing an individual’s care.
